First box

Picked up a $500 box of halves. No pre-1971.

Did get a 2003 D and 2004 D.

Also, I got a 1996 S that I think is silver. Is there anyway to tell for sure?

Yeah you could weigh that proof ....

What does it sound like? Do yo have a 1964 or older half?..... Compare them. And of course the edge should show no sign of copper....

Hi Whiz-Kidz !!

I too am starting Coin Roll Hunting, or coinrollhunting, this week, halves. I plan to eventually use my Economy Stimulus Check if I ever get it!

My question(s) is this: Should I try the old, large Eisenhower dollars? Can I even get those in rolls? Are quarters or dimes worth searching? Will I have to re-roll the rolls in new sleeves, or should I find a bank that has a coin sorting machine a.k.a. Coinstar? Any other coins I should look for, such as 1976?

Do you have any tips for me?

I am a bit green but I am looking for silver !!
