Found near old log house. first one iv'e found. Would like some information on it if possible or a link and what you think the value is. Got me really excited. Oh, by the way, its not for sale. I'll keep it with the other finds. The number on the back is 889 or 688. I don't know which way to turn it. Thanks. mb

Outstanding find, MedicE11. It's a Civil War Sword Plate. It's a Union piece. It could be an NCO's. On the Officer's ones the wreath around the eagle was silver.

I found one last year.
