First Cartersville,Ga Silver ring, IH and unknown date button

Just moved to Cartersville, Ga and hunted a friends house and found my first silver ring, IH and Navy two piece button missing the back. There is a bit gold on the inside. Please see the pictures for details. The button was about 4" down in the yard. Any help on the button would be...well.........helpful. ;-) The IH was in the rose garden about 3" down and the ring was on the brick fence line in the back yard. I think my friend will be buying a metal detector in the near future. Ready for a new adventure in the South and some historic detecting.

Thanks for looking GL and HH

Nice finds! WTG

If you have an interest in digging civil war artifacts you are in a pretty good area. I don't know of much, if anything, that happened in Cartersville, but there was activity all around you. Going south on the interstate I got in a camp just across the river south of Cartersville. Good luck and happy hunting.

Congrats nice finds, love the ring!

nice finds indeed

Thanks all. My first introduction into metal detecting was Civil War relics back in the 80s. We used to go to new subdivisions around Picket's Mill and Kennesaw Mountain and really clean up the bullets and fragments. I've moved toward more pre-Civil War areas, land deeds, and early settlers in this region. Don't get me wrong, if I come up on a camp, I'll hunt it, or leave it until winter. Thanks for looking and HH.

nice finds fellow Georgian!!
