It is a Liberty Nickel. I found this one a few years back.

Trustee you went out with Detector Dave, and the date looks like 1895. It was great going Detecting with you and would like to go some other time. I found a kids ring, a buffalo, and a 1898 indian.
 

Congrats on your "V" Nickel, I've dug about a hundred of them and still enjoy digging them!! Some look good, some look terrible, but still enjoy them all!! Again, congrats!!
 

Sometimes you can use photo editing software to bring out details.

As an example I did some things here.
Actually looks like that last digit might be a "6" after all.
I could even see 1826 in there - hard to tell.

liberty or common called a "V" nickle -- 1895 or 6 -----sweet find indeed
