Went with Digger Dave to an old park.

He says this is a Nickel. I believe him. The date is 1896 or 1898. This is the best I can do on the scanner.

Liberty Nickel

It is a Liberty Nickel. I found this one a few years back.

Trustee you went out with Detector Dave, and the date looks like 1895. It was great going Detecting with you and would like to go some other time. I found a kids ring, a buffalo, and a 1898 indian.

I modified my first post, while hunting with Trusty I found a 1889 indian, a buffalo, and a kids ring with a red stone. No pics, the daughter is not home with the cam.

Sometimes you can use photo editing software to bring out details.

As an example I did some things here.
Actually looks like that last digit might be a "6" after all.
I could even see 1826 in there - hard to tell.
