First detecting adventure in 3 months

Met up with 3 buddies today to hunt a site we have been detecting lately. This site has been pounded through the years, and we still seem to come up with good Civil War relics. We met up in beautiful Tennessee to do some White's TDI practicing. Both Randy, and Sham just purchased the White's TDI units, to get ready for the Relic Rescue hunts this fall. The site we detected had been both Confederate, and Union Encampments. Amazing how much stuff these soldiers left behind for us to recover. Most of my digs were Union Finds today including a super cool carved Minne still packed in the Tennessee soil....It sure was great to get out with friends, and save some History... Monday I'll be meeting up with Doug (Modern Miner) for some old house site diggin...

Hey Mike! If I'd known what direction you were in I'd have waved at you! LOL. You dug some great stuff there. Awesome day, doing what you love with good friends, you can't beat that. I found a two ringer (I think) when I was a kid just playing around and climbing up a dirt bank after my brothers and sister. I saved it for years but have no idea what happened to it. I wish I still had it. I've tried to get the owner to let me search the property but he says it's searched out. :-/

I had a great time hunting with you as well Mike. I believe we found the campsite and after some much needed rain we should find a lot more there. That is a pretty large field to hunt and several thousand troops camped there. Can't wait to get back out there again. Congrats on your finds. Will have to hunt the woods too where you found the buckle last time.
