I was leaving Walmart after grabbing just a few things & while passing the coinstar machine I noticed a dark colored coin sticking out from under the machine. Looked like a penny in color from a distance but it looked the size of a nickel. I picked it up & without checking the date I knew I picked up a war nickel. Yup a 1943 P with a nice dark patina. I've read a lot of people making these finds but this is my first!

Nice! Whenever I go to the bank and cash in coins I check the ATM. You never know what you would find!

There's something special about a war nick

-Lady Liberty is hot stuff...especially on a coin

Probably because it is mostly silver and all the others are copper-nickel.

They were 56% copper, 35% silver and 9% manganese. But still cool and worth about a buck+

I am an eye witness to a young 7 yr old finding a $20 that was left behind from the previous ATM user. She ran off with it to show her mom that was standing in line at the grocery store

Cool

Take it where ever you can get it.
