My buddy and I found our first find yesterday. A Soda Water bottle from the Coca Cola company, bottled in our own Painesville, OH. The bottle is from 1926, and was mostly intact. Pictures to follow. Not as cool as some stuff, but worth a story I'm sure XD.

Oh hey, one of my first finds was a Pepsi can from the 1980's. Was last March and I was in dig-it-all mode. Dug down 14 inches on a beach to find the stupid can.

Wonder if the soda companies would start an advertising campaign for oldest can/bottle that's still around? Thus making our junk finds valuable and we could sell them as props for the commercials. No wait...that's the aluminum/glass companies that would benefit from that idea.

Neat find. Are you using a detector? HH, Mike

Why isn't it cool??

I would think so and would love to see a pic!!

No MD yet, we just pick a spot and try our luck. We've been hunting through the old "Jew Camp", which was a residential area for Hebrews pre WWI in our area (long since abandoned.) Found it in a cleft on a cliffside by the Lake. Only thing that confuses us is that it was bottled in our city. We have no Coke plant, and can find no record of a previous one. My buddy is cleaning it up, then we'll have the pics. Probably in a day or two.
