Found my first Half Dollar today. Nothing old but still cool. The half dollar had a piece of tape across the face, causing a striped appearance. Can't wait for my next find.

havent found any halfs yet, new or old, good work:icon_thumleft:

I dug one of those at a site that dates into the 1850s and it was black from being in the field for a long time. When I flipped it out, liked to have a heart attack thinking it was from the period of the other items from there. Then saw ole JFK looking maybe even smiling at me and was clad.

Love digging halfs ! Congrats on your first of many to come !

nice find I have found 3 so far only one was silver that was last year none this year

Thanks for the congrats. I was very excited to see this fall out of my clump.

love the tape look....nice dig!

Cool find there Steve keep it up.

Two quarters in one shot, not bad! haha. I would love to dig a half! those damn memorial cents that are the color of the soil are so hard to find in clay

The tape is an awesome effect too, you can see toning pre- and post-burial

WooHoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve, it is funny how some coins just can evade a person. Glad you finally got the Half to check off the list. I know my son (over 25 years plus of hunting) has yet to find a Barber Quarter, despite dozens of Barber Dimes and a couple Barber Halves, just works out that way sometimes.

Congrats, Steve. Found my first and only half this year as well. It was also a kenedy half.

halves are always good
