First hunt after the corn harvest

Harvest time in northern Illinois. I got out yesterday and hunted the location of an 1870 farmstead. Found this 1853 large cent and not much else. I have hunted the site a few times before. This was in the same hole as a bent square nail.

Strange - a few years ago I hunted a cornfield with stubble here in Atlantic Canada and found only one thing: an 1853 US cent!
