I had time yesterday for a 20 minute hunt. I went to the site of a 100 year old church (building is no longer there) which I had hunted a year and a half ago. But back then the conditions were really dry while yesterday the ground was very moist. My first signal was at 3 inches but I didn't dig it (oh well) but the next signal was at 6 inches so I decided to dig. I cut a nice plug and the coin was in the plug. As I was looking for the coin, though, I sensed it might have fallen and sure enough when I rescanned the plug there was no signal. I scanned the ground nearby and sure enough I came up with a 1904 Liberty nickel. My first one ever, on my first dig of the year - just a GREAT way to start the year! I plan to head back out to the site on Sunday or Monday - there has to be more waiting for me there.
