We have had 3 days of warm weather and all the snow is gone. I decided to hunt an old house a friend just bought. I found 22 coins with 11 silver. 42 wlh, 03 -S barber q. 1, 1911 and 2 1907 dimes and 6 Merks. Had 3 wheats and 1, 1903 indian. Found 2 thimbles and very little trash. I hope everyone had a happy new year and find lots of good "stuff "in 08.

A great hunt! Were the thimbles silver, too?

Now that's an awesome day by anyone's standards. Great job, Les!!
I agree, so many silvers, so few coppers....not the norm, but I'll take that anyday.

Hope you find more there!

Les ,That is awesome. You were lucky that no one has been their before you.Now you have a place to go pick out the deepes in the Iron on a slow day.Great finds !!! and good luck on your next hunt.

Great stuff! Go back MANY times. If you just cherry-picked that site imagine what you'll find after going over it multiple times. Could be one of those places that just keeps producing. Never quit going to that site.

Thanks Cap. I wasn't really complaining, I just thought it was a strange ratio of silver to total coins. I will take all the silver that I can get.

It's stories like this, that made me take up metal detecting.
Great Finds!! Congrats!!
That house kinda looks like a Church, or maybe a parsonage. Do you know the history of the site?
