That buckle is very nice. I'm not a buckle expert but it looks to be that age by the style!

The vast majority of square/oval shaped two piece buckles would date after 1720. Other shapes were not popular after that. The type of chape, if present, would further determine if it was pre 1720. This one is neither square nor is the chape of the later style. Hope this helps
