I smiled all the way home!!!! Found it (1944) and the brass latch thingy at the same site where I found the 1803 copper.

Annie! :) The Draped Bust far, far out-weighs the Merc dime! Many never find a Draped Bust cent...Mercs (or winged liberty dimes as they are really known as) as are a relatively commonplace find. Regardless.....congrats!! ;)
 

Congrats on the Merc Annie, but the 1803 Draped Bust Cent is what put you in the Kool Kids Klub!
 

Nice one, got my 5th this morning a 1919, the others are 1935, 1940, 1943 and 1945..
