First pottery find in the creek 2016

I haven't been on in a while so if I haven't looked and commented on anyone's finds I will. Also, I haven't been able to get out to the creek much due to work and weather but got out today. I found this piece of pottery just when I was about to call it quits and just wish the creek would give up something in stone but I'm not unhappy with my find. Maybe next weekend I'll find one of those elusive points or knives.

The first two pics are right after I found it, I brought my phone with me today. The others are after it dried when I was back up at the house. Thanks for the look and HH!

Always so much pottery. I know there is a trash pit near. Its cold here and water is way high still. Be safe.

That 1st piece could fool the average person into thinking it was a piece of tree bark. Great eye to see that one.

Funny you said that about the tree bark because the very first pottery we found in 2013 my son started to toss it because he thought it was tree bark but I didn't let him because it felt like something more...boy am I glad I didn't let him!

One time last year my friend and I walked a sand bar. We started at one end and both walked past a big pot section cause we thought it was a piece of tree due to it laying next to a log. On the way back he says stop a min. He asked me do you see it? Im looking and finally he walks over to it and picked it up. It looked just like a big piece of bark.
