First Real Score!

So I have not had much luck with the boxes of halves and dimes that I have been searching so I was getting a little bit frustrated, and my family did not really see the point of searching for such a small outcome. However, I stopped at 7 banks in the last two days and finally scored.

Yesterday
Bank 1: 6 Ikes, $17 in tt Halves-5 40%
Bank 2:$20 envelope of Halves-0
Bank 3:$8 in tt Halves-1 40%

Today
Bank 1:44 Ikes, $70 in fed wrapped halves- 18 40%- two rolls had 5 each
Bank 2: $200 in CWR dimes (some searched already)-0, $5 in tt halves- 1 40%
Bank 3: 0
Bank 4: $35 in CWR (already searched)-0, the teller told me that several people have been coming in and searching dimes

Finally I found a nice little pile of silver. Now my brother (also a collector) and the rest of my family sees the value of CRH. I pick up two boxes of halves on thursday so hopefully they will be as good as the other rolls. Tell me your thoughts.

Great score 44_dimes. Was wondering about the Ike's. Were any of them special? I've got about 1000 or so and have found I silver Ike and one silver Canadian that was mixed in a large batch I picked up. What are you going to do with the ikes? I'm not sure myself but pick them up when I can, hoping for silver. HH

I'll just put them in a box and hope that their value goes up years down the road. Also I have a question what would you say they are worth right now? 1.50? Less? Tell me What you think please. Well they are definitely worth a buck. I have heard some people have been able to sell them on feebay for $1.25 to $1.35. Or maybe Craigslist. My feeling is they aren't really going to become valuable anytime soon and if you can find a buyer to pay more than face, jump on it. Also there are some rare varieties that are valuable, but I'm not knowledgable about them. Check the coin forum for that info.

Try selling them on craigslist I have sold hundreds of them for $1.30 ea I now have a guy who buys all I can sell him at that price

That's amazing. I didn't know people were paying a premium for Ikes yet. 44-Dimes very nice little score. I would continue to check those banks just in case more come in over the next couple weeks.

Yeah I will defiantly be going back there often. It's actually about a mile from my house so it shouldn't be a problem. Also I am going by their tomorrow to see if they happen to have any more rolls of half dollars.

Checked the Ikes and no type II. It would have been a miracle if I did but it was worth checkining.
