Detector(s) used
XP Dues (AKA: EMI Chaser/Dog fence lover)
9" X35 - 11" LF - HF Elliptical - MI6 -
Garrett AT Pro with Neil Storm Coil, NEL SharpShooter and Garrett Pro PinPointer AT (Carrot)
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
So I took the XP out for it's first real hunt today, I went to an iron infested home site that I have pounded with 3 other guy's all of us using AT Pro's before. We never found anything of significance due to the iron masking all the good targets. We even had two of us using the NEL SharpShooter coils and still could not pick targets out from the iron. So today the XP proved why its the best detector on the market today! Pulled a 1857 Flying Eagle Cent and a 1920 Buffalo Nickle and about 30 old rifle cartrages from the iron filled ground. The Flying eagle came out with 6 square nails and I think one was even touching it. Simply mind blowing how the XP can find targets no matter what the soil condition! I am very pleased!

Sorry I know the coin is flipped the wrong way in the image :)

Excellent find!

Congratulations.

Nice find! How did it sound amongst the iron and hiw did you have the Deus set up?

Sounded great with all that iron around, I was using "Gary's Sifter" program and If I remember correctly it rang up in the low 70's I wasn't paying attention to VDI numbers as I am trying to learn the machine in full tones. It was about 5-6 inches down, started pulling square nails and since I came from the AT Pro I was thinking "Erg its just square nails!" and ran the PP around one more time and BAM see this baby :)
One thing I learned today is that the XP will not lie to you as far as whats in the ground once you learn the tones and tricks

Well played.

Congrats on that. Such good condition to.

Nice FE. Congrats!

Thank you all, This isn't my first rodeo many years detecting but I am amazed at 2 things and I do not use that word lightly
A: the preservation of this coin in NY soil, most Indian heads are a little crusty and these have the same metallic composition I believe 88% copper and 12% nickel.
B: The XP Dues and its depth and separation of targets!

Awesome find !! Congrats and thanks for sharing !!

Congratulations on your finds. I'm new to the Deus and the separation of the targets is incredible compared to the ATP and other machines.

congrats on your finds and new machine. I try to tell people about the deus and what it will do. Actually was having a discussion on another forum the other day where a guy said the at pro is basically as good in iron as the deus. Ive been sick and havent been out in a week or so and have been reading alot and it amazes me what some people say and BELIEVE! nice job.

I can tell you that 3 people hit this site at the same time, 2 running AT Pro's with NEL Sharpshooter and 1 running AT Pro with 5x8 and I know for a fact we all went over the area where the Flying eagle was found. It was masked by all the iron, the AT is not even in the same league as the XP Dues period. Believe me I love my AT but its now number 2 or my water machine.

Nice find, Congrats!!

Exceptional coin sir!

That is one of the nicest that I have seen posted. My Deus found one, but it was nearly as nice as yours.

Congrats.

nice find .I been using the deus maybe six months, also used the at pro and others.I have found good stuff with every one I used , but the deus is what I been looking for .I put it in a backpack with a fold up shovel and away I go.in the sift program is just that it's like sifting , but you are going to work .I'm am also very happy with it so much that I got rid of my other detectors.

Nice Flying Eagle!! I wish the ones I have found looked that nice!!

My game plan for 2017 and one of the reasons I got the Dues was the following.
- I can put the Dues in a backpack "the whole machine" simply amazing!
- Nothing beats the Dues in heavy iron or trash (using the XY screen picking out bottle caps is a breeze)
- Since I now have 2 hands-free I can carry my AT Pro with the NEL Storm and use that for very deep targets once I have gone over the area with the Dues.
In my eyes, these 2 detectors will cover 100% of the terrain and detecting conditions plus my detecting style I should come across.

I know the Storm coil is ginormous, but have you done a side-by-side comparison to confirm the AT PRO/NEL Storm combo is definitely deeper than the Deus (e.g., some of the Deus superior signal processing capabilities, multiple operating frequencies and not just frequency offset, ground balance options (such as manually pushing GB below the actual ground conductivity reading) even in the absence of trash gives it some super deep performance)? [Can't wait for the sparks to fly on this one, heh, heh]

the deus is deeper with the 9 inch coil than the pro is with the storm coil.
