Metal Detecting
Hello,

I have been metal detecting for several weeks now and have found a silver dime and several wheat pennies. I have been researching and trying new spots, looking for old coins and jewelry. Today I hit the dirt with my father and spent some time at an old boy scout lodge. I found several wheat pennies and was excited at the older finds. I had expressed my disappointment to my father, about not finding any rings yet, but that all changed. I got a nice smooth signal that was only a few inches deep. As I broke the dirt open, I almost feel over at the sight of a silver ring. Not bad. I am hooked.

Here are a few pictures from recent hunts. IMG_0382.webpIMG_0383.webpIMG_0396.webpIMG_0401.webpIMG_0414.webpIMG_0416.webp

Congratulations on your finds and a nice looking ring at that. If you are like many MDers you will remember that first ring forever regardless of how many others you find. Seems like you are in a good area as you have found some older coins and that makes the detecting all the more fun. Out of curiosity what detector have you found your "treasures" with. Have fun, fill in the holes and happy hunting......63bkpkr

I use a white's 6000 di pro. I inherited this from my grandfather recently and picked up the hobby. I find my white's easy to use and it is pretty accurate with readings.

You're sure off to a good start!!!!:icon_thumright: Nice finds.

Awesome finds, The Rings are a hook. I'm at 25 rings, 2 Gold, 8 Silver and the rest cheap stuff.

Congratulations! Now that you know the thrill of finding a ring, you'll have that anticipation with every plug you cut.
