I've had the Deus out a few times. It is a different machine for sure ... finding stuff in areas that have been hunted hard - where I thought there were no quarters left they were popping out. In retrospect, I don't think I was aggressive enough with the Manticore concerning settings. Don't just run general; use Fast, LC, HC, etc. - experiment. With the limited testing I've done I see that the Manticore can do the same as the Deus in many respects concerning iron, but nothing definitive - need more rigorous testing scenarios. It seems that whereas the Manticore/Minelab want consistent TID's, XP tossed that out the window and the same target can have fairly different TID's depending on the program, coil and Max Frequency. I always learn a bit more about my other detectors when I get a new one - a different technical angle that provides some contrast.
This is from the last few hunts ... haven't been getting out much or posting ... working on Deus docs. The silver earring was with the Manticore, the lighthouse charm (Avery) was with the Deus (today).
I didn't notice until I took the pic of the back of the earring just now, but my wife's name was Kiera, RIP.
