This has been a day of firsts. First time on TreasureNet, first time out in the field with a DFX, first 14k GOLD ring. I have been reading the reports of all the finds on the TreasureNet, but finding that first GOLD ring was a rush that I will not forget soon. Hope you enjoy the photos. First one is the :o GOLD 14k size 11 ring, found on a Huntington Beach, California sand volleyball court. This was the last find made just as the last sunlight was fading. Next two were taken by my lovely wife and now full time supporter, of my brother (on the Left) LazyOldCowboy is showing me the “ropes” on digging coins, then me walking back from dropping many handfuls of junk in the trashcans. Last one the keepers for the 3.5 hours of hunting, 3 quarters, 3 pennies, the GOLD ring, and one chain link the made my ears ring for 20 minuets. Not shown is the 15 bobby pins, assorted tin foil and two wine bottles and enough nails to repair 40 yards of wood fence. ;D Altogether a very good first day hunting!! Thank you for reading this post, and happy hunting to all.

Bruce

Welcome & nice find, Fossis...................

Great going Sailer. I am waiting for my DFX to come in. It still snowing in Buffalo Ny , so I,ve got to wait a while to try it out. I know a ring like that will also show up as a pultab. It takes alot of scooping but it is worth it.

Day 2 with New DFX --------------No GOLD this time
No Excitement but a good learning experience in sunny California at the park.
LazyOldCowboy was showing me how to dig plugs and detect playgrounds. Oh by the way note to everyone when around monkey bars look up before standing…OUCH!!!!! :'( No Blood just a headache, lesson learned. Total for today is 1 dime, 2 nickels, 4 pennies, a button off of blue jeans, 1 very rusty 3/16 allen wrench, 1 16 penny galvanized nail, and the usual pull tabs and junk removed from play yard to the trash. I am Learning more everyday about detecting and my machine the DFX. Tomorrow will always be a better day, its back to the beach 8). Hope that everyone is having safe and productive weekend. Happy Hunting and may you find lots of George Washington’s for Presidents Day :).

Any Day Detecting is better then any day at work. ;D

Bruce great work finding the ring! Also welcome fellow DFXer! Could you please let us know the VDI reading that rang up for the ring and which program you were in, thanks DFX-Gregg.

Gregg, I was using the factory preset jewelry & beach with a VDI 42. Just got lucky by digging every signal. Next to the last target dug before calling it an day. Hope this helps.

Thanks Bruce I like to keep track when I can, just to see where everyone is hitting. I was also in J/B mode when I found my last gold ring even though I was in a park. For me the VDI came up at 24. If you look at the pre installed programs a couple are pretty close to being the same!
