First V Nickel - Almost caught in crossfire

Today started off as a nice day, beautiful weather in the upper 50s... Decided to stay close to home, was working the abandoned houses on the street... Dug lots of clad, a few unidentifiable hunks of brass, then found my first v nickel right next to a house...

I moved down a few houses and was swinging away when I suddenly heard someone yelling... Looked up in time to see 8 police officers standing in my front yard with guns drawn... They were pointing at a man, who happened to be standing between me and the cops... I have not run that fast in a long time...

Well I'm sad to say it turns out a man stabbed a k9 officer at the park and ride at the end of my street... The police chased him to my front yard and shot the suspect... They let me get into my house and have not let us leave since... My front yard and back yard are taped off and now a crime scene...

Today I found my first v nickle... A k9 officer lost its life... And I found a new self awareness of the neighborhood I solely detect in... Praying for Two families tonight...

I think it was part of a more recent spill... I found it in the same area I recently found a bunch of old Canadian coins and what I believe we're Japanese dongs... Also a South Korean coin... This is the first (non wheat penny) us currency I found here... I may have gone a little crazy with the cleaning on this one... But it was in nice shape out of the hole...

Anyone who would stab a dog deserves....well I'll juts leave it at that...hope all that commotion did not ruin the experience your great find. The V Nickels that I have found all look like crap compared to that one.....Congrats!!

Seriously, you are lucky. When something like that happens in your neighborhood it makes you think twice about roaming around.
Pretty serious when a K9 officer gets killed.
Thankfully, you were not injured.
