I was in a corn field I skimmed over a few weeks back. Found a really beat up War Nic and a first time ever, jews harp. Found some flat buttons, piece of a shoe buckle and a tiny cool buckle! :-)
Enjoy the pix

Nice finds, love the tiny buckle

Nice finds.
It's pretty crazy hunting in the dead of winter this year. As I speak, it's 59 degrees outside in january and I'm gonna' go try and find some treasure.

congrats on a nice hunt and a cool first.

Great finds, neat jews harp, on my bucket list

Congrats on those relics and the OD Nickel Treb. :occasion14: Looks like a you have a good site.

That's a beauty of a Jews harp bud. I've only found 2 and only one is nice. That's a nice early site. Just gotta find the hot spot

Nice..you got me jonesing, snow and below zero here.

Shoot I would have thought it was like and old homemade cotter pin or something.

Looks like a great place to hunt judging by those pictures you posted.Crazy assortment found too.

This field has five or six more that go along with it. The owner told me I wouldn't find anything there because his family has been hunting it for years. I've pulled a few other flat buttons and a buffalo nickel that had a date on it. Best part is it is about two miles down the road from my house. I'm going to spend allot of the near future in these fields
Thanks everyone for your nice replies.

Boy! Those pics sure bring back memories!

Clunk, swing, snag, cluck, click, trip, stumble, swing, click, stumble, fall, ...... LOL

Still a nice hunt Treb!

Looks like you found yourself an old knee buckle there Brad! Those fell out of favor pretty much before the 19th century so chances are it's older. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1452462654.435566.webp

Great OD nickel too!

What a nice little buckle Brad:icon_thumright: I haven't ever even been on a hunt where a Jews harp was found. Looks like you have some good fields.

Thanks buddy, I have found a couple of these in the past on some of Georges historical sites, they are very small and fragile. Has to be used for something light small. I'm theorizing maybe a garter strap?

Wish you'd come down and give them a whirl. lol The couch is empty now, my dog died last Sat.

Very cool finds treblehunter! I remember playing one of those twangy, buzzy little harps when I was a kid.
Best of luck out there!
