Wow i cant believe i just found my first half dollar, and its a Seated one at that!!! Went to work this morning finished a job from yesterday, got soaked, so i descided to go metal detecting. A few hours went by with nothing in my bag but a bunch of shootgun shells, horse shoes, and bottle tops. Then i finally came across my first wheat penny for the year, my 5th since i started detecting, a 1939. I then made my way towards the back of the property, walked deep in the thicket and decided to turn around before i get lost in there. As i was working my way back to the corner post i came acrossed a good signal and 2 inches down was the 1855 Seated Half Dollar! My first Half, second silver ever, second 1800's coin ever.

Congrats again! I was there on the property with Ryan. He called me and said "You will never guess what I found..a seated half dollar!" So I hauled butt across the property to go check it out in person and it is amazing! I was shaking just holding the coin. This property has proved to be so rich with great history. From CW stuff to old coins. We both have made a lot of firsts here and I have a feeling there will be more. Congrats and what the heck, I say banner. I see a lot of seated coins on here, but not often a half dollar in such great shape!
