MADE THE BANNER!!!! AT JUST GO DETECTING!!!!

Wow i cant believe i just found my first half dollar, and its a Seated one at that!!! Went to work this morning finished a job from yesterday, got soaked, so i descided to go metal detecting. A few hours went by with nothing in my bag but a bunch of shootgun shells, horse shoes, and bottle tops. Then i finally came across my first wheat penny for the year, my 5th since i started detecting, a 1939. I then made my way towards the back of the property, walked deep in the thicket and decided to turn around before i get lost in there. As i was working my way back to the corner post i came acrossed a good signal and 2 inches down was the 1855 Seated Half Dollar! My first Half, second silver ever, second 1800's coin ever.

Holy freakin wow... what an amazing find. I cant believe the shape it is in. I am in Utah, and I dont think I have ever found any coin old or new, in that great of condition. Good for you, I applaud you even though i am insanely jealous.

what a great looking coin! i just checked my cherry pickers guide and there is a variety were the o is repunched. so take a good look. the pic shows it on the bottom half of the top of the o. good luck . willy

I will answer for him. lol We were actually detecting in Boyce, Virginia.

I checked the mint mark and it is not a double die "O". But still an awesome find!
