My finds from yesterday from the same site that yielded the two-cent piece and large cent I previously posted.

This is my first "V" nickel (1904) and my first two Indian Head Cents (which strangely I've never found until now).

The nickel was a shaky 53 signal on my AT Pro at about 9" with the 5x8 coil. I'm still working on cleaning it up.

The 1890 Indian cleaned up nicely (pre-and-post in the pic below) and I haven't cleaned the 1907 yet. Still lots of signals and ground to cover, hopefully my first Seated is out there somewhere too.

Nice finds Dave. Congrats

Thanks! The excessive corrosion of the two-cent piece I attribute to being about 100 ft closer to a saltwater beach (also a few feet lower in elevation) than the above finds.

Very nice coins. Congrats.

Nice finds, I wish my '04 and '05 looked half as good as your '90.

Congrats on a couple of "first" for you!!

I found my first v nickel ever a couple weeks ago. That 1890 IH looks good...

Great finds! Sometimes I'd rather find an IH more than a silver dime. Keep at it!

Congrats on pulling all those keepers. Nice hunting grounds. Still skunked by the V-Nickle here :dontknow:

Nice job! I still have yet to find a V Nickel or even a Shield Nickel, well, hopefully soon. Congrats, and keep pounding that site. HH

Awesome finds Dave. V's are so cool.

youre definitely in the right area for seated and barbers!, pound that place!!!

Congratulations on your first finds! You did a fine job cleaning that Indian Head cent.

Thanks for all the feedback. I've dug a few old-looking (non-silver) Jeffersons at this site, but I knew this one was different even before I had a really good look.

I've never found a Barber or Seated, so I'm thinking those have to be out there somewhere!

Funny, I had that exact same thought earlier today (I'd pretty much always agree if it's a Roosevelt).

The 1907 Indian is now cleaned. Looks to me like it was a relatively fresh drop:

the age of the finds you've made= dead giveaway, grid grid grid, you just may be surprised!

Congrats, and good job cleaning up that IH cent!

Nice firsts. V nickels are hard to find with much detail. They just don't hold up well. I hope you have some success cleaning yours. I was afraid to even try my first. It was my oldest coin for a bit and I didn't want to risk it.
