yep,it's theyre nature, theyre enviroment,we are supposed to watch and clap.
Let me read...aha ..deepening pools to create thermal refugia and protection from predators...adding boulders and woody debris for trout...thought adding debris is bad because it creates dams that can suddenly collapse during high water,i've heard that even some beavers where fined for stuff like that.

Them "friggin" hypocrites! Its ok for them but if a person with a dredge got into the water all hecl would break lose by the wacoenviromentalterriorists!

The heavy equipment probably inflicts some nasty damage to the riverbed. Doesn't really seem like a logical way to achieve the end goal. Do they drive backwards repairing the damage they cause while trying to improve the habitat?

thing is ,you can,t really damage a riverbed.
A riverbed IS a constantly changing damage .Either carved in to bedrock or even more dynamic in sediments.
The river i dredge for example ,in the last 4 years i was there,(exept last year cause it was dry),has changed his course, shifting around between 20 to 300 feet almost every year. It's interesting to watch on google earth using the back in time function.
According to the greens all the fish and macroinvertebrates should be dead or better, they should never ever be in existence under this conditions.
Don,t know the deathcount of a cutterhead dredge though.

As a retired Excavator operator, it looks like the guy in the excavator is not building fish habitat, but, rather doing flood control... The large rocks are either being stacked as a berm to prevent erosion from a bank, or they are laid to form pools, so the brook won't wash out as fast. The excavators, do not harm the fish, they move !! I have seen fish swim right past me while working. A 40 ton Excavator, will not do any damage to the rocks, anymore than a small hard rain storm.. Of course, the main item is, the machine cannot have any hydraulic or fuel leaks...
