At a guess I would say it is from the Green River shale, Wyoming. The age is Eocene. Many fish fossils come from there.

On the other hand the rock looks like limestone which would rule out Wyoming. Drop a few drops of acid, vinegar might do, on an inconspicuous part of the rock. If it fizzes it is limestone.

For comparison, check out eBay websites that sell fossils.

You could put it on eBay and see what you get for it.
