Metal Detecting
I took my fisher F22 out today and decided to hit up a creek. After I was done detecting the creek I went back to dry land and the F22 started falsing immediately. I turned down the sensitivity to 6 (I run it on 7) and still falsing. 5 sensitivity was the highest I could keep it without it going insane.

I put the sensitivity on 6 and 7 and waved in in the air near no metal. It still beeped like it had locked onto a great signal. The VDI number was all over the place as well.

Any help about what to do would be great.

Sounds like you might have a small leak in the coil or the wire near the coil.
Wait a couple of days put it in a dry place see if it will dry out ...or put another coil on and see if that helps .

Try a reset (reboot) by turning on the detector and keep holding down the powerbutton for around ten seconds.

Also make sure the cable is on really tight. That fitting always seemed to be coming loose on my F2. Just a very little tightening with a pliers. Do not crank it hard.

Those two things used to clear all my problems with the F2.

A water leak in the coil sounds like a very strong possibility.

Thank you! I let it dry out and it works like a charm now.
