Detector(s) used
F75 LTD, 1280X Aquanaut, & a Patriot (back-up/loaner)
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
Had my F75 SE LTD upgraded a couple of months ago in Feb. Came back like a new machine and the turn-around-time was great.

2 weeks ago I did a bonehead thing (something we could laugh about over a beer). I had to ship it back out for a repair. Had to replace the whole bottom rear piece. Was quoted a very fair price (cheaper than expected). Is shipping out tomorrow.

Just wanted to tip my hat to Fisher Research Labs. :goldtrophy:

Good to hear.

Does it involve leaving the detector leaning up against a vehicle as you drove off? ;-)

Man your good, remind me of this guy.:occasion14:

While I have never done in a detector that way I have, and have seen, the same process of self-inflicted wounds.

Once is an accident. Twice - you get a head slap. ;-)

I'm buyin' that first round.

How do you like the probe? How much weight does it add to the detector. I swung the light weight f4 most of last season and could swing it for 8-10 hours a day. The F75 is over 3 lbs and I tire out after about 6 hours.

It adds about 10 oz, but the probe clips between the hand and the forearm and balances out well.

My previous detector was a Minelab with control box and eight AA batteries ahead of my hand, so the F-75 with FX-1 probe weighs about half what that one did and feels even lighter than half.

C'mon - what's that AKM w/30 rounder clip weigh? 10 or 11 pounds?

yes but normally my weapon was shouldered and not swung side to side for 8 to 10 hours a day (1 handed). The AK was an Afghan soldiers weapon that I borrowed for the picture, I normally carried an M16A2.

I am looking into getting a probe, I hate using my garret pro pointer in a trashy area since it does not discriminate. Is that why you got the probe since it runs off the detectors discrimination setting?

It will. It is a 3/4" coil that you switch with the regular coil. Uses the headphones and display. And if you hold the detector's pinpointing trigger it uses the non-motion pinpointing circuit and display of the detector.
