Hi! We have been doing reconstruction on the house and while walking in the backyard I spotted this little bottle! This is our 2nd backyard bottle find of intact small bottles. It took a while to figure out it said "Fitch's" on the bottom. (Fach's? Tach's? Jach's?) It doesn't have the additional markings that other Fitch bottles have. It has a clear seam and some nice patina. We are going to have it out when the house is complete. The house dates back to 1910 in Pasadena. I can't quite find a bottle that matches this shape. Any ideas on age or what "tonic" may have been in this bottle would be fun to know.

Good find. It's likely to be for hair tonic, although Fitch filed their trademark for: AFTER SHAVE LOTION, A PREPARATION FOR SETTING WAVES USED IN DRESSING THE HAIR, HAIR TONIC, HAIR DRESSING, HAIR OIL, BRILLIANTINE, BRUSH SHAVING CREAM, VANISHING CREAM, DISAPPEARING CREAM, CLEANSING CREAM, LEMON CLEANSING CREAM, COCOA BUTTER LUBRICATING CREAM, TOILET FINISHING CREAM, AND MASSAGE CREAM, and also for SHAMPOO.

This one has an Owens-Illinois mark (yours doesn't) which helps for dating. Yours could well be earlier:

Looks like a neat litle bottle Found at home with some nice embossing Good find If it is a hair tonic bottle I can promise you I did not leave it there . As I HAVE NOT HAD A USE FOR HAIR TONIC FOR A VERY LONG TIME

Thanks and yes....all the internet searching I've done shows up with the Owens-Illinois mark. Could be fun if it was earlier. The ads for Fitch's products are amazing!
