Gotta hear the story behind this:icon_scratch:

What's up, Doc?
Bill Lahr (co developer of the Surfmaster PI) did a modified DF for me that runs at 12 uSc, runs at full gain with a smooth as glass threshold. It's esseentially a SMPI. Everyone who hears it just says: "Wow!" The Dual Field of my dreams! Ive tinkered around with it but it air tests badly. This is because Bill also took all the "front end" out of it to get better performance in black sand. In-ground it's great and has an awesome faint range. As soon as I got it in the water I noticed a gully that was developing from a how it looked a few days before. It cut up sharpley at the deep side--always a good sign--not just a dip in the overburden but some potential of marl access. Not too far out either--not beyond the depth at which marl contact is possible. Sure enough--even though it was quite dug out (lots of holes) second dig produced the amber ring (13 grams 18k). When I see a good trench I watch the back to see if it's moving out into deeper water. That's where the class ring came from it's 12 grams 10k from 1985. Bill gave me a lesson on how to sweep this detector and what to listen for to get the real deep ones. I practiced for a long time and this hunt was where it paid off. This detector has great optimisation and really hits those low conductors--even in the black sand low ground--pride of the fleet!
Thanks for asking.
