Fixed Blade Knife Help

Inspired by the other knife thread, I picked up this knife today for $5. It looks old, but has no marks. I do not think the sheath is original. The handle looks like it was replaced, but done a long time ago.

Curious if anyone knows anything about this knife/value.

Trench knife. Made from a cut down bayonet by a G.I. Very cool. Value? Whatever a collector is willing to pay, but without the person/story behind it, no more than $35-$45.

That was my first guess. Any Idea as to the type of bayonet? It looks like it has double fullers. One wide and a narrow one going along the spine. I'm unfamiliar with this type of blade.
 
Interesting find. I'da dropped $5 for that for sure.

I've been trying to study and learn knives since I came across the Vanad-Stine piece.
Don't even want to say how many knives I bought at the swap meet today :tongue3::laughing7:
