It is a brass 1-piece flatbutton whose loop was brazed onto its back, and it has NO BACKMARK. Those characteristics (especially, the latter two) date your button from as early as the 1770s, on through the 1830s. The majority of this type of brass 1-piece flatbuttons which have been excavated in the US were manufactured in Britain.
