Found my first flat button Friday. Backmarks are very clear. "Haydens & co. Treble Gilt"
The front of the button is blank.

Trying to learn the approx. date made and information on the Haydens Company. What I found is the factory was in Connecticut and connected with other button making companies.

Probably 1810-1840ish give or take a few years, the front would have been gilted like the back at one point. Just a plain civilian flat button.
 
Nice. Buttons hold a lot of history. If only they could talk.
