Detecting in woods near old homesite. Pretty good dime signal and found this very thin piece of metal, threw it in my pocket. Seems to have been a very thin circular band of silver, now flattened. Noticed the stamping when cleaning up finds. Any idea what this is from?

I'm thinking it's an old napkin ring. The hallmarks, if I had to guess we're American silversmiths mimicking English hallmarks. Nice find.

Maybe a ferrule off a smoking pipe or cigar holder. Hard to say exactly...


Something doesn't look right about the hallmark...

DCMatt is usually correct. I also believe that this is the ring off of a smoking pipe.
