Hi everyone,

It's been a while! Due to various circumstances, I haven't been able to go out swinging the detector all that much this year-- apologies for the lack of activity, the past few months have been very busy for me. Today marks my 5th outing of the year, as well as the first gold / gold ring of the year. Found this chunky fella in the first 15 minutes of the hunt- should've called it there, lol. Conditions at the beach today were just perfect, and it seems the big guy upstairs smiled upon me today. I was itching to go out detecting after Easter lunch, since the last time I did was a long while ago. I did find a bunch of other miscellaneous items, like 2 quarters, a Canadian quarter, a penny, a spent .22 shell, and a shark tooth, but I already put them away with the rest of my collection and don't feel like fishing them out again for a group pic. I will likely go again this week, since the high wind speeds seem to indicate that there will be deep sand cuts, but it will depend on if I have time.

Without further ado, pics attached are both of the gold wedding band. It weighs 9g, and appears to be stamped 18k in a manner that suggests custom / non-standard work:

Congratulations on finding that beautiful hunk of gold! I seldom ever find gold of any kind. That ring would have made my year.

OK present day value. How much is that ring worth ?

Boom! What a Beauty!! Gold has a magic, seems it super charges you and you can hunt all day!

Thank you! While we're more likely to find gold down here in Florida from modern jewelry, it's also a lot harder to find historical coins. I'm still itching to find some Spanish colonial stuff, ideally a shipwreck coin from my bucket list! The beach is a different beast altogether, and while I was incredibly lucky to find this ring, I find that technique makes all the difference / increases the chances of getting lucky. Gold is more often then not found in the most inconvenient locations for metal detectorists by my anecdotal experience.

1,048.06 USD
You can use this precious metal calculator to figure out the value of gold, silver platinum or palladium , just pick the precious metal, enter the weigh, purity and hit the "Calculate Value" button and it will figure out the value at that day's spot price.
