Howdy All, I went to a local flea market this morning hoping for some vintage motorcycle stuff and ended up buying rocks. The seller had hauled over 500 pounds of rocks out of a woman's house that had passed away. He didn't know what most of it was and was pricing by size. I bought a cool little fossil for $2, a staurolite crystal for $1 and this tourmaline cluster for $20. The tourmaline has some watermelon colors on the bottom side. What do ya'll think of these rocks?

All three are very nice. The tourmaline would look great on any shelf and I really like the fossil with fractal like patterns. Thanks for sharing.

His two tables were covered and he had lots more in boxes in the truck. He had never seen the stuff before he unwrapped it at the Flea Market. It was all wrapped in paper and put in boxes when he got it. When he sold something, he would reach in a box, pull out a piece and unwrap it and put it on the table. I am headed back in the morning.

First three pictures are Tourmaline, water mellon tourmaline due to the green "rind" and the pink center. The 4th is Staurolite, also called fairy crosses because of the twinning nature of the crystals forms cross like structure and the last is what I would consider moss agate, the white lines are usually manganese dentrites in the agate material but there could be another name for it. Interesting finds for a swap meet.

Lucky find...What year is your Indian? I've got an 81 HD Sturgis edition. It's getting a tad rare by now.

My Indian is a 1948 Chief.Scan.webpThis is what it looked like when I got it. It had been very abused and parked in the late 1950s. It took three years and way to much money to get it back to original condition.
