question:

I am interested in attending the Florida hunt. But I have a question. I am a member of the treasurenet, although I usually do not post on a regular basis. The few people I hunt with are not treasurenet forum members. Since I have to drive from the West Palm Beach area, I would like to bring them along to help defray the cost of gas. We all belong to the Gold Coast Treasure Club and all are responsible hunters. Can they join the forum and be eligible to attend? Also, we would come bearing donated prizes.

I am gonna have fun and enjoy meeting all folks from anywhere I would like even some folks from Europe to attend if they wish (hint hint you folks across the pond) I don't have a problem myself with anyone coming Tnet member or not. They say they are bringing prizes (no I didnt ask if they were minelab SEs) so what do you folks think any heart burn from the rest of the family?

It's your hunt! You're the huntmaster.I have no problem either way.Heck,I don't even know for sure if I'm gonna make it yet.Just so they understand that this group are not professional and I,as a individual,won't stand for any unpleasant words directed at someone because they get 'too close' to someone else that's hunting or one of the kids runs around them ,you know what I mean.My own opinion and mindset.We'll have some newbies there and some kids, they will be there for the fun.

Yes there are going to be kids and newbies there and interference is gonna happen. It happen to me at CTH quite a few times. I expect folks to do what I did. I separated myself by walking away from them. I did not ask or tell them to go hunt somewhere else.
They don't even know they gave me interference.
The bottom line is we are there as a "family" and we are there to get out of the rat race and have fun.

I have heard of puddle jumpers on here before and some don't post the hunt site because of that. Still the only prevention can be on the prizes and the stuff hidden that day.

Well, we're all TH'ers, and Burdie has a point. These hunts are not organized or sanctioned by TNet so it just happens to be the communication forum we use to make arrangements. I don't have a problem swinging with anyone who comports themselves in a professional and responsible manner. That being said:
How many people are we talking from 'Gold Coast TC' showing up; is the writer going to accept responsibility for them and will it put any undue stress on your 'free' dinner plan for Saturday?!? :P

Dear forum members,

I am the one who sent a PM to Bridge End Farm about some of my fellow members from the Gold Coast Treasure Club Hunt attending the hunt at the end of January. There is usually a small group of us that attend events together. We view a get together like this has a way to meet new friends and exchange ideas rather than one of competition. If you all know anyone with the Central Florida Metal Detector Club (CFMDC) or the group from Daytona, they can vouch for us has a responsible but fun loving group. The number has never been more than 10 that will travel this distance. Not only do we travel to all parts of Florida to hunt with other clubs, we also go to treasure expos and hunts. This will not be a club function but rather a small group that I enjoy hunting with. The only reason I mentioned the club is in case any other forum members know of us. But I can vouch for these individuals since I am the huntmaster of this club. Any of us who participate are willing to bring food and drinks to add to the dinner. Thanks, Linda

Linda you were doing good till you mentioned the Central Florida Metal Detector Club which meets in Sanford Florida (My hometown BTW)

You don't have any of them tagging along do you, I don't need no more dirt to dig from (from my younger years) than what I will have to already dig from the Rowdy Bunch coming.
