✅ SOLVED Florida mystery point

3 3/4 by 1 1/2 Not sure what type, maybe a Kirk found by me literally stuck to the hardpan in Hillsborough County Florida. I cleaned as much hardpan residue off that I could with only water and a toothbrush but couldn't get it all off. This one was fairly deep and it's another suprise I didn't smash it with the shovel. I'm not even sure what type of material it is. This one is a mystery to me and as always thoughts and comments are appreciated.

Nice Florida Kirk Mike...There’s a lot of variations, Six mile creeks are flaked from one side of the face to produce serrations...South Prong Creeks, the tips have no serrations.and mostly a N.Fla.into Ga.point...Mike just posted a link on my last Kirk post, shows a lot of variations..

Thanks for the confirmation H.P, I was actually considering soaking it in vinegar or something to get the crusty hardpan off but don't want to do anything that could possibly damage it.

That's a nice point and I agree the material is interesting. It looks fine as it is. Some Florida material gets soft and is easy to damage.

I noticed that too newnan, I was considering soaking this one in mineral oil but I really don't think it would change much.

I wonder if this is even chert, I've found many, many chert points but nothing like this, I'm no expert on material types at all. Regardless of what material it is I'm glad it's all there.
