Detector(s) used
White's Pro XL
Hey, dudes, Paco gave me a call later this evening, "Dude, I called, Barb, and she said it would be awesome for us to detect tonight." My response, "Paco, that sounds like an awesome woman! Hmmm....do you want to hit the grassy knoll again?" Paco stated, "Heck yeah, you know, dude, these people are awesome landowners!"

So, we made a journey to the same farm that has been producing. After parking the vehicle, we sauntered our way to the field. During our walk, many cars drove by and each time one did, I acted like I was super important, with my detector on my shoulder. I even stated to my buddy, "We are cool, dude!"

Once we got to the relic field, we detected for about an hour with nada to show for. I then got a nice whisper of a sound in my relicphones, and the target turned out to be a square nail...yes, Minelab dudes, I dig everything! hahaha I re-checked my hole because, you know, I love dat iron, and was receiving a better siggy (signal)...after jabbing at the ground, acting tough, I plucked a nice gold plated button out....I yelled, "I love this hobby!" Paco stated, "I know you do and you are damn good at it!"

After the zoyton, it was, Paco's, turn to find the goods. His Classic ID (MXT is coming soon - thanks to, Mr. Howard, at White's) was yanking out some nice relics....he found a crotal bell and a spoon. Soon after, I got a nice siggy that was coin checking each time I pinpointed it, so I thought, "What the ***k, I guess I will dig it!" I am glad I did, because I was soon rewarded with a Flying Eagle penny....since there is no date, I am taking credit for 1856...hehehe. After observing my coin, we started to perform the Hokey-Pokey....because, you know, dudes, "That's what it's all about!" hehehe

That was it for the relic hunting day. It was another memorable day with my good friend...it will be a day to look back on.

*All relics were found on private property with total consent from the landowners.

Too bad you couldn't come along. hahaha

Just think you could have been the one to dig a "Dollar" hit...it turned out to be a bolt. I wonder if, Mike the Lube Dude, could grease it up for me? giggle

Kirk,
First off let me say, I bet your Hokey Pokey was Okey Dokey, no Jokey. ::)
Reminds me of when we had to do square dancing in gym class in the early 70's as a form of torture to the kids. Funny, only the nerdy kids seemed to enjoy it. Maybe that's why it is called "square" dancing? Hmmm.

Congrats on your finds Dude. You are on a roll with those flying coins. This week it is a Flying Eagle penny, and last week you had Wheat pennies flying into a creek. ;D

I just purchased some new software for my computer called VRC (Virtual Relic Cleaner). I tested it out on your coin and button above. They came out GREAT! Just look at the results. :o
Well, I got to go test it out on some old plow pieces and horseshoes now.
Good luck this weekend,
MM

Nice finds...always good to get a crusty that can be identified! Keep up the hunt!

I can't wait to hit the Colonial tavern this fall. Look out, dudes, the happy dances will be coming. :D

cool beans dude, can you do the "bump' too?

Kirk,
Either my eye sight is getting better, or you are on steroids. ;D
Has your avatar grown over the last few days? ???
I'm going to have to start calling you "Big Kirk" soon. ;)

Congrats on your "Fleagle"!! (I learn new terminology here).
Your pic reminded me, I also found a button with some coat-of-arms stuff on it. The coin and the button are in the olive oil for a long sentence. Is your button military?

When we were kids, my sister had some of those blue coin-collecting books. That's the first place I saw a drawing of a F.E. Cent, but I sure never saw a real one. Our pennies are worth maybe 20 to 60 bucks once all the crud's off them. Let's say 4000 x the original value. That's fine, but that jolt in the instant you realize "THIS IS LIKE MID-1850'S!!" is the priceless part.

Good Hunting on that site. I'd be interested to hear what that button turns out to be.

That Russian comedian guy used to say, "Wotta countree". Wotta hobby..

A flying eagle is a special coin. What a treat to find one!
