Folks,

Being mostly a land detectorist don't find much in the way of gold rings...but have to admit this one is one of my favorites...Rolls Royce long service ring...the inscription is worn off so no way of returning it.

Feel free to add your favorite gold rings to the thread...the more the merrier...lol

JimDon,

Yeah you're probably right....on the Canadian forum quite a few members do it with a fair amount of success.....in any event here's another gold ring to add to the pot....it's probably the smallest gold ring
I've found...10k and belonged to a little girl....diameter about the size of a dime....and it was squished flat....I doubt if it even weighed 1 gram....luckily I found it after a heavy rain and I was going slow and
doing the overlaps...otherwise I would have missed it....lol.

Hello Bill, :hello:

Here's one of my favourite finds from this year, probably dates to the early 1900's. Has the letters 'IHS' with a church cross just above the 'H'; stamped 14k on the back.

In Christianity, the Holy Name of Jesus refers to the theological and devotional use of the name of Jesus. The reverence and affection with which Christians have regarded the Holy Name of Jesus goes back to the earliest days of Christianity. The devotions and venerations also extend to the IHS christogram (a monogram of the Holy Name), derived from the Greek word IHSOUS (Ξ™Ξ—Ξ£ΞŸΞ₯Ξ£) for Jesus, or referring to Iesus Hominum Salvator, Jesus savior of mankind) representing the Holy Name.

I found it under a maple tree at a demolished home site, apparently the house dated to the 1930's.

I also found the door knocker to the house! :laughing7:

HH, Dave

Folks,

Here's another one for the pot....10k pink gold wedding band and might have a bit of age...found at a circa 1900 era park...I like the reeded edge on this one.

:icon_thumleft: Here are some of mine and Chug's favorites! The first is a white gold wedding set, 10 karat! The second picture is of my first gold, it's 18 karat, with diamonds, rubies, saphires and emeralds! The silver ring is Chug's favorite silver, the pics don't do it justice! The next to rings are a cute little 14 karat gold and diamonds, and the ruby is set in 18 karat gold, it was bent up quite a bit and we had a jeweler straighten out the band a bit and he cleaned it up for us, I just love it! :headbang: Red

Folks,

Here's another one for the pot...don't be shy to add to the thread...must be a few other gold finds out there in your keeper's pile....lol.

This one was found last year I believe at a circa 1900 park down about 5 or 6"...stamped 750 or 18k with two toned gold snake motif ring...probably European made based on the stamp.

GC,

That one's a beauty and judging by the engraving would venture to guess the date is 1895....
thanks for sharing.
