That's interesting to read! It’s fascinating to know that more meteorites are discovered in Antarctica than anywhere else. Guess because of the contrast between the dark coloured meteorites and the white snow.

Absolutely the best place to look for meteorites is somewhere that doesn't have many rocks. That's why the largest number of finds are made in deserts. Although we tend to think of deserts as hot and sandy (like the Sahara), by scientific definition Antarctica is in fact also a desert. The other thing about Antarctica is that glacial action channels the rocks that are present, moves them 'conveyor-belt' fashion, and deposits them in moraines. The proportion of meteorites to terrestrial rocks is very high in those moraine deposits.

You have the North African desert from Egypt to Mauritania, as well as the most country in the world that recorded the largest number of meteorites, whether regular or lunar, and Mars is the Sultanate of Oman.
