Picked up a 14k diamond brooch at a yard sale. Weighing in at 6.7-6.8 grams, the gold value alone is worth $160. Pics are too large to upload on TreasureNet, so I uploaded them on flickr, the link is below and click on them to enlarge them. Any idea on what it's worth?
Thanks!

The pics don't do the diamond justice.

If you sell it for scrap you won't get much for the diamond. I'm showing just shy of $172. You might get $140-150, maybe higher if you have a good buyer. On the internet, maybe more.
Nice find for a quarter! :headbang: Are you certain it's not plated?

Thanks! It's not plated. The white stuff you see on the back is powder of some sort. It comes right off. Just haven't had time to clean it all off. It sure scared me after I bought it though!

I see a 14K hallmark. Based off my recent experience, the value would only be close to the value of gold contained. That diamond won't add to the value. Unless, you can find a buyer looking for a jewelry piece, then maybe you can do a little better.

Regardless, great deal for two bits.
