For anyone considering the purchase of an entry level metal detector, don't do it. Buy this one instead. This 30 year old technology is still better than some of the expensive machines produced today. I went through a bonfire site absolutely loaded with nails plucking coins from their midst. With it's predecessor, the 1260X, I dug dimes regularly at 8" to 10" in that soft NW Ohio soil. I still have the 1260X and picked up a 1265X from here and have not been disappointed.
