Fossil trees standing upright

Fossil trees 'standing upright'

While going over some of my 'old Fossil ground', I noticed some of the 'banks of a creek' had fallen off, exposing some new finds of Fossil trees standing upright.
These are 'Calamites', they must have been buried in a 'mud slide' in ancient times, also one pic of a 'coal seam'.
Walking stick for 'size comparison'.
Some are not new 'weathered'.

In a mine near my home, there were 'large trees' standing upright, it was a strange sight.
It was probably just those 'darn voices in your head again aa'

Fossis I so want to go fossil hunting with you! You find the neatest places. None of my business, but did you take any of those standing fossil trees or did you leave them in place? I would have been tempted to remove one or two.

Hey Treasure Tales, 'long time no see', I didn't have my rock hammer with me at the time, I may go get some of them later.
I have so many now that I am 'pretty well' collected up. 8)
