Fossilin' with Mista Fossis

Yesterday it finally warmed out, so Fossis took me out thru the mountains and we had another day of adventure. He is a walking history encyclopedia of his area, and we drove around, and scanned the roadsides of recently graded roads for fossils that pop out, and we did pretty good. Sure was the easiest fossiling trip I'd been on, to just drive along slowly and stop the truck when we saw one!

And here's one just sittin' there, waitin for us to pick it up.......

We drove by an old, abandoned bridge that someone tried to start on fire.....

And here's my take after they've been cleaned up.

Also got to meet Mr. Okie Hillbilly finally, heard a lot about him but hadn't met him until yesterday.

...and then we headed out to an old homestead to do a little metal detecting...came across a loose longhorn along the road, and she paused for a pic....

And here's the site, not much left but an old chimney and maybe a smokehouse, but a great area in a pasture where it was easy to detect.

Here is some of the relics found.....

But unfortunately, the owner had to leave and she said we couldn't stay, so only a 'little detecting' we got to do.... :P
But I dug 2 wheaties (can't read the dates) and a 1967 cent. I'm sure there is much more there, so we'll have to go back someday.

Calamite, Stigmaria, Lepidodendron, and one other I can't ID, but Fossis know a lot more about this stuff than me.

Are those Graboid fossils possibly ? 8)

They certainly were easy to 'Grab'.
Here are the ones I came home with, plus a (mystery), we went by a coal mine, the boss was very nice, said: we don't
find any fossils here, but I found an 'Oyster shell', not fossilized.
