Found 10-04-09

Found this thick crude triangle today. The point measures 1 7/8" long, 7/8" wide, and 5/8" thick. The base is straight and one side has wide spaced seration. The material is kanawha flint and I have considered the point type to be Stanfield, Frazier, or Pandora.

Hey Rich, if it's all there and I found it down here in Va. I'd say it was a Badin. They are more of a southeast type though so I'm not real sure. I've got a couple thick jasper triangles from Pa. that I can't I.d. I'd be interested to know exactly what type that is.

Can't say with certainty, but from the thickness at the base, it's most likely a knife re-worked down to a stub and used from there (on one side) as a flake core.
