Managed a short hunt Sat. between the rain. Found this 1842 Large cent with a hole in it :'(. Put in some clay just to take the picture. Also found an old shotgun shell manufactured by UMC Co. (1867-1911), old lipstick holder??, and an old???, part of a necklace or something. The old picture was the old Pennsylvania railroad which is on the other side of the old farmhouse , about 1000 feet where I am now hunting. There is a soybean field between the 2. There is an old side walk that runs down to town past the old farmhouse. This is where I am focusing my attention now. When the beans are out I will be in there searching as there was an old house there (which I just found out) from old maps of the town dated 1867. Thanks Merf for the link.

Nice bunch of finds. I think the lipstick holder is actually a tire valve stem cap.

Congrats on the LC, naby have holes because they used to be cheaper to use than buying a washer!

Nice finds! Judging from the marks left around the hole, I'd say a bullet made the hole. What do you think? Still a very good find!

Isn't that kind of big??
Does it have any writing on it? The name Schrader, maybe?

Congrat's on the large cent.
You're making some amazing finds with the Ace 250. Have you tried cranking up the sens. on it yet?

Actually the hole is small, not drilled, but like a punch. It wasn't even round. No bullet, though.
