I was wondering if anyone knows the value of the pillar dollar button dated 1766 sorry about the pics best I could do any help would be appreciated

Did you find them together? The pillar one seems more like something modern (but the jury is still out, need better pics) and the second very early. (If you are in America) I've seen similar to the second labeled as Charles I. But this is more Crusaders era to date. I don't find em that old here. Can you get better pictures, and of the back too?

both buttons were found together the backs are plain 1 piece both were found in deleware the pillar does bare the date 1766

Then you probably got an oldie. The back of it would probably say more about the age than the face, even with it having a date. The second is definitely old.

Those are a couple very interesting button finds. Did you get any early military or pre 1800 silver at the site?

It's a pair of sleeve link buttons made in imitation (or possibly made from) Spanish silver coins.
