The phone rang at 7:10 A.M. My wife looked at the caller I.D. and asked me in an irritated voice. Why is the car dealer calling our house so early? (I have a bad habit of buying and trading cars.) I pleaded innocent and told her to answer the phone. It was my salesman Tommy. He had been pulling weeds last night after he got home from work and lost his wedding ring. He had looked with a flashlight until about 10:30 and couldn't find it. He said his wife had been crying most of the night and this morning (shes 8 1/2 months pregnant, so she is extremely emotional). He asked me if I could come over and try to find it. I told him to give me about an hour and I would be over. When I got there he showed me were he had pulled the weeds and where he had hoed and planted a couple plants. I searched them areas and no luck. Then he said he carried the weeds to the back and put them in a pile of old grass. Searched there and no luck. He was getting very discouraged. I asked him a few more questions and he said he had pulled a few weeds in the marble chips next to his house. But he thought he could of seen the ring on top of the rocks. I said we should go ahead and try the rocks. After about 5 minutes of hunting the rocks I got a strong 20 on my MXT. I started to sift through the rocks but nothing. I did notice the fabric under the rocks looked like it had been moved. He said while pulling the weeds the fabric lifted up, and he had to rebury it. I moved the rocks and still had a strong signal. We pulled the fabric back and there it was. He was so excited thanking me and shaking my hand. He told me the ring cost over $3500.00. He offered me a reward but I declined. He then told me next time I buy a car he would give me the deal of the century. Well enough typing I think I will be making a trip to town.
