Found a $14 bill!

Or its equivalent. This morning, enticed by silver prices over $48, I sold a bunch of Walkers, Franklins and other 20th century coins for 28x face. We finally got a sunny break this afternoon, so I took the kids over to a site I've been working and started another collection: a 1943 Walker. After years of toil, my detector has finally more than paid for itself!

Awesome digs, you...finally...paid for your detector ?? I've seen all the silver you've dug over the years, there, friend...I'm pretty sure your MD was paid for a while ago. Sux they only gave you 28x, tho', my dealer is(as of yesterday) paying 33. Keep diggin', always good to see the veterans. Ever hear from Nick P. anymore??

Around here, the dealers are slow to react, though I get the price regardless of the wear on the coins. Nick came back as Al Czervick (the Rodney Dangerfield character in Caddyshack) for a while then left the forum. Unfortunately, all the silver I've dug over the years didn't sell for what I'm getting now. I left at least 30 Mercs with the owners of the silver farm, so that's almost $85 right there!

With the shortage of physical silver, prices will continue to rise...not time to sell yet, (and if things turn south, you may need your silver to trade for beans and bullets).

I pay 30 to 33x face and buy all I can get. Look around for a local private buyer next time you get a bunch piled up, which I hope is real soon!
